On Thursday April 5th 2018 the IEEE Milestone plaque awarded to the Physics Department at Dundee University was unveiled by the IEEE President-elect, Jose Moura. The ceremony was attended by members of the IEEE UK and Ireland Section and other guests from around the world.
The lEEE Workshop on loT has been a joint initiative of Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU), Edge Hill University, SmartLancs Ltd, Future Tech Lab and the lEEE Region 8. The two-day workshop was organised at a world-class venue, Sensor City, providing information on loT technologies, applications and entrepreneurship.

The IEEE Young Professionals Halloween Party was held during the IEEE SENSORS Conference on 30th Oct 2017 in Glasgow, UK. IEEE Young Professionals at the IEEE Sensors Council brings together over 100 young professionals in the fields of sensors, building bridges between young researchers and fellows.
PDnet was organised by the IEEE UK & Ireland Young Professionals, in collaboration with the IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter at the University of Manchester on 14th September 2017. Over 25 young professionals (including current post- grads students, recent graduates and young professionals) and established professionals from various academic and industry related disciplines across the UK were in attendance.
