Power Electronics Chapter

Welcome to the IEEE UK and Ireland Power Electronics Chapter.

The IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) is a vibrant, inclusive and diverse organisational unit in the field of power electronics, with over 10,000 members worldwide. Toward Industry 4.0 and smart society, the requirements for sustainability, digitalisation, and intelligence from individual components to the system of systems, drive the future development of power electronics and demand higher levels of synergetic effects of new technologies, methods, tools, and community.

The UK and Ireland Chapter is dedicated to providing a full range of high-quality services such as technical exchange, professional conferences, education, and training, as well as informal and non-formal learning, ultimately equipping young people and participants of all ages with the qualifications and skills needed for next-generation power electronics.

We closely work with other Chapters, Sections and non-IEEE organisations to develop, maintain and promote regional activities for the advancement of the theory and practice of power electronics engineering.
