Section ExCom and Chapter Chairs’ Hybrid Meeting – October 2023

The autumn 2023 Section ExCom and Chapter Chairs’ Meeting was held in the University of Westminster in London.  To accommodate those that were unable to travel, the meeting was held in a hybrid form with access available via Zoom.

Both ExCOM and Chapter Chairs presented their activity during 2023 to the meeting as well as their plans for 2024.  During the pandemic, face-to-face meetings had been replaced by many online events which had been recorded and there was continued demand for this type of member engagement.  These recordings are available to watch again via the IEEE player, providing more opportunity for member engagement.

Many chapters reported that they were returning to face to face conferences, whilst maintaining an online presence through webinars and hybrid events.

The keynote presentation was given by Dr Saumya Reni, University of Westminster, entitled “An Insight into the Cross-disciplinary Research on Applications of AI Based Image Analysis and Processing on Pathological Images”.
