IEEE UK & Ireland Women in Engineering Affinity Group Launches New Awards

The UK and Ireland Women in Engineering Affinity Group is excited to announce a series of new awards for 2021. The intention is to recognise volunteers and members who have made a significant contribution to supporting Women in Engineering.

The awards are:

  • IEEE WIE UK & Ireland Award for Excellence in Engineering

Any engineering, computing, related technical field. An award for excellence with consideration for encouraging promotion of women in engineering across our geographic region.

  • Change Catalyst for Equal Engineering Award

A person who is working towards driving change in equality processes in engineering and/or computing in their organisation. Applicants should consider promotion of positive change across our geographic region to encourage inclusivity and equity of access to all.

  • IEEE WIE UK & Ireland Kay McNulty Award

This award is aimed at inspirational Women in Engineering who are from – or have a strong tie with – the UK & Ireland. The award is for excellence and demonstrable potential in their technical field. Applicants must be in the first 5 years of their career. We encourage applications from across our geographic region.

Please note that we will allow an additional 18 months for caring responsibilities such as maternity leave.

  • IEEE WIE UK & Ireland Inspirational Volunteer Award

A community volunteer who promotes engineering and engineering related fields with particular emphasis on encouraging girls and women to begin or remain in the field of engineering or related fields. We encourage the promotion of change from applicants across our geographic region.

Applications will open in September 2021.
