Distinguished Lecture: Silicon Photonics from Device Innovation to System Integration

In this talk, recent progress in silicon photonics research from device design, fabrication, characterisation to large-scale photonic chip integration will be presented. In particular, the investigation of nonvolatile silicon-Ge2Sb2Te5(GST) hybrid photonic devices for optical switching and memory.

Lecture: Gas Sensing Using Near-IR and Mid-IR Tunable Semiconductor Lasers for Industrial and Biosensing Applications

This talk will describe the research currently being undertaken in the Photonic Sensors Lab in IIT Gandhinagar. The lab uses near-infrared and mid-infrared tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS) as the main sensing technique to measure gas concentration, pressure and temperature for industrial and biological applications.
