Virtual Distinguished Lecture | Security in SDN/NFV & 5G Networks Opportunities & Challenges

This talk will address evolution of cellular technologies towards 5G but will largely focus on various security challenges and opportunities introduced by SDN/NFV and 5G networks such as Hypervisor, Virtual Network Functions (VNFs), SDN controller, orchestrator, network slicing, cloud RAN, edge cloud, and security function virtualisation.

ComSoc Virtual Distinguished Lecture | Connecting Space Assets to the Internet: Challenges and Solutions

Data communications between Earth and spacecrafts, such as satellites, have traditionally been carried out through dedicated links. Shared links using Internet Protocol-based communication offers a number of advantages over dedicated links, however, the movement of spacecrafts gives rise to mobility management issues. This talk will discuss various mobility management solutions for extending the Internet connection to spacecrafts.
