DCU IEEE Student Branch | Role for Hydrogen in the Clean Energy Transition

Hydrogen will play an important role in clean energy generation while transitioning from traditional fuel sources. In this talk, Dr James Carton will discuss their team's work in developing the necessary technology for running Ireland's public transport on a clean energy source such as Hydrogen.

IEEE Conference | Advances in Communications, Devices and Systems (ACDS)

The Imperial College IEEE Student Branch is teaming up with the EEE PhD Student Representatives to bring you the 2021 IEEE Conference on Advances in Communications, Devices and Systems (ACDS). This year’s conference theme is “Things that might shock you” and includes a keynote presentation by Dr Ayush Bhandari of Imperial College London.

IEEE Power and Energy Distinguished Lecture | Advanced Prediction Techniques Applied to Smart Grids

This seminar will review the recent outcomes of some smart grid challenges addressed by novel prediction techniques. At the generation level, decomposition techniques have been applied to handle the inherent uncertainty in short-term wind power prediction. At the transmission level, dynamic thermal line rating prediction has been studied as a viable solution to reduce congestion and utilise the actual capacity of the line.
