IEEE Future Networks UK and Ireland Local Group was founded in November 2020 to promote IEEE Future Networks activities in UK and Ireland. The group carries out various activities including workshops, technical seminars, standardisation, networking and social events, community development and outreach, public engagement and industrial liaison, and special projects for the IEEE UK and Ireland Section. The focus of the local group is to reflect the IEEE’s contribution to current and future generations of communication networks.
As part of IEEE International Workshop on Ultra-High Speed, Low Latency and Massive Communication for Futuristic 6G Networks conference, IEEE Future Networks UK and Ireland Local Group is supporting the organisation of the panel discussion: "What to expect from 6G (networks beyond 2030) and how it's different from 5G".
