We are pleased to invite you to our free webinar on Basics and Foundation of Blockchain and Smart Contracts. The objective of this webinar is to provide basic and foundational knowledge on blockchain and smart contracts. In particular, the webinar will:
a) present how a blockchain works
b) explain what a smart contract is, how it is related to blockchain technology and what is its functioning
c) introduce the concept of oracles
d) explain what a decentralised application (dApp) is
e) highlight strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of blockchain and smart contracts
f) present some use cases that could be realized using this technology
The webinar will also stimulate the reflection on whether, for a specific use case, relying on blockchain and smart contracts could be worthy, or whether it could be a wiser choice to exploit already well-mastered (traditional) technologies.
The webinar which will be delivered by one of the leading scholars on Blockchain – Dr Valentina Gatteschi – will explain what blockchain is and isn’t, and its application to smart contracts. It is intended for everyone, from students to practitioners who work in the field, to people who consume or use services rendered online on a daily basis.
This is an online event and a meeting link will be emailed to attendees on Friday 7th June. Attendees will also be able to access the meeting as a recording after the event.
