An introduction and overview of some of the developments in Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance capabilities developed by modern militaries over the past 20 years. Technologies and examples will cover Radar (RadInt) and Geographical Intelligence (GeoInt) as follows: RadInt – Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Imaging, Inverse Synethic aperture Radar (ISAR), Ground Movement Target Indication (GMTI); GeoInt – Electro-optical and Infrared (EO/IR) theory and technologies, Multi-Spectrum Imagery (MSI), Hyper-Spectrum Imagery (HSI), Full Motion Video (FMV) technologies, Wide Area Motion Imagery(WAMI)/Wide Area Persistent Surveillance(WAPS), Burst illumination Laser (BIL) and Light detection and Ranging (LIDAR).

Since then he has completed a multitude of operational tours in Northern Ireland, the Falkland Islands, Iraq and Afghanistan as, amongst other positions, an Officer Commanding of a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP), a Forward Air Controller(FAC), Surface to Air battery commander and an Air Director.
