Students of ages 13-14. Queen’s network has 85 confirmed participants (plus the accompanying teachers). There are 17 different schools participating so far which roughly leads to 20 teams.

Two activities will run in turn for both sessions, 10 teams per activity per session.

Activity 1 is based on a microcontroller with capacitive sensing capabilities. The idea is each team to experiment in programming the microcontroller to sense
different objects, in our case fruits. In this activity we are planning to have a crash course in block programming.

Activity 2 is based on assembling and building a ‘robot’, by using servomotors, moving parts, on-off switches etc.
