NASA Science: Exploration, Innovation, and Excellence by Dr Thomas H. Zurbuchen, NASA Deputy Administrator and Director of the NASA Science Missions Directorate

NASA observes our space environment daily with a fleet of space observatories, and in order to understand the Earth, we must comprehend it in the context of a larger universe. Every discovery we make about the distant universe, or the worlds, or our solar system, better informs our knowledge of our home planet.

Three areas are at the heart of NASA’s comprehensive science program: Exploration, Innovation and Excellence. Dr. Zurbuchen will explore these tenets and share how NASA leads on a civilisation scale to enable new capabilities and address global challenges.

Key topics:

– Exploration will allow us to focus both on scientific exploration, but also our role in the campaign.

– Innovation will help us focus on diversity of players, including international and commercial.

– Excellence will allow us to focus on the impact we seek to have and things we see as the US role.
