IEEE Power and Energy Chapter Distinguished Lecture – “Wide-Scale Adoption of PV Systems in Whole Distribution Networks” by Dr. Luis (Nando) Ochoa
This lecture will present some of the findings from the UK EPSRC project “Whole System Impacts and Socio-economics of wide scale PV integration (WISE PV)”. Focus is given to the interactions of high penetrations of small-to-medium scale PV systems considering low and medium voltage networks simultaneously.
The long-term technical and economic benefits of Smart Grid schemes, including the use of OLTCs, curtailment and storage, are quantified using real rural and urban areas and then extrapolated to regional and national scales.
