As part of the 2022 IEEE UK and Ireland Section Annual General Meeting held at the Glasgow Caledonian University on 29th April, Professor Mike Hinchey, Past Chair and current IFIP President, gave a keynote presentation entitled 'Building Resilient Autonomous Space Exploration Missions.'
The inaugural United Kingdom and Ireland Section Volunteer Recognition Awards were presented at the 2021 AGM in recognition of members who volunteered their time and made a significant contribution to the success of the section activities and mainly to the three top priorities set for 2020-2021.
The use of location data and contact tracing apps in response to COVID19 has raised questions around societal values and trade-offs. This presentation considers how the pandemic is impacting human rights, with a focus on the rights to privacy and data protection.
