Education Society Chapter

Welcome to the IEEE UK and Ireland Education Society Chapter.

The mission of the Education Society Chapter is to build a knowledge base and deliver training and skills that significantly increase our members’ competence and productivity, thereby enhancing their contributions to the goals of their organisation.

We aim to provide support to enterprises and members currently working in the industry in the form of  training resources and advice on how to share work and spread knowledge across the IEEE and beyond.

We will also provide support to academic institutions including to lecturers who need help with producing new material and with using novel methods to deliver their teaching and to researchers who need to communicate the technological and scientific advances in their field efficiently and who would like their research to percolate down to curricula. Finally to students who need help identifying the most worthwhile material among the numerous resources available. This will be done by both actively selecting the most appropriate pre-existing resources and by creating new, high-quality ones.

We will identify good pedagogical practice and enable lecturers and instructors to share it, create stronger connections between Industry and Academia and support STEM activities involving schools, colleges, universities and industrial partners.
