Aerospace and Electronic Systems Chapter

Welcome to the IEEE UK and Ireland Aerospace and Electronic Systems Chapter.

The UK Chapter of the IEEE Aerospace & Electronic Systems Society (AESS) has the vision of fostering the UK engineering community across the domains of radar, sonar, optics and navigation.

We aim to provide a network of UK based engineers and scientists across industry, academia and government that pro-actively meet to discuss cutting edge technical challenges and research. A key goal of the UK AESS chapter is to enable the dissemination of expert knowledge from prestigious speakers via presentations to the AESS members at events organised by the UK Chapter. We hope that these presentations encourage vibrant debate, intellectual discussions and potential future international collaborations.

The AESS society has an excellent mentoring framework that is available to AESS members. As part of this scheme, mentors in the Europe are listed here and include renowned researchers such as Maria S. Greco, Alfonso Farina, Hugh Griffiths and Marco Martorella to name only a few.  The scheme is free to all AESS members and is simple to join.

The AESS society has an excellent newly established Resource Centre. This includes Technical material on Learning & Research Support, Video Tutorials with Assessments, Publications and Research Tools / Data Sets. The majority of these features are available at no extra cost for AESS members, small cost to IEEE members and larger cost to non-members. This is a great resource which contains material generated from world experts in their field.
